Members of your organisation would be most welcome to attend. To be held in Sheffield on Saturday, 18th October, the event comprises a day of lectures at Sheffield University using the making of a knife as a theme for a series of talks on metallurgy and its relevance to modern engineering followed by an evening dinner at Sheffield Town Hall. For any attendees staying over until Sunday, Stuart Mitchell, one of Sheffield's last remaining "Little Mesters" (cutlers) will be opening his workshop and demonstrating the techniques required to produce the high quality hand knives upon which Sheffield's reputation for metalworking excellence was founded.
